In October 2024, we sent a donation cooker to Dr Julio, a lecturer at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Tlaxcala<\/a>,<\/strong> Mexico (as previously reported). He wants to spread the idea of solar cooking, especially among the less privileged sections of the population in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in July 2025, we donated another six sets of reflector plates to him, as well as an \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddde \ud835\udff3\ud835\udfec\ud835\udfec, which is well suited as a demonstration model, partly because it is easy to transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it does not come close to the performance of the \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddde \ud835\udfed\ud835\udff0 (200 watts vs. 700 watts), but as the photos show, it can still be used to boil water for tea (or coffee…).<\/p>\n\n\n

In June, Stephan Hansjakob, a teacher at the vocational schools in Alt\u00f6tting<\/strong><\/a>, set up an SK14 with pupils from Year 3 at Teising primary school<\/strong><\/a>.

From 06.05. – 08.05.2025 EG Solar<\/strong> held another construction course<\/strong>.
This time with participants from the University of Hasselt (Belgium<\/em><\/strong>) and the
University of Lubumbashi (DR Congo)<\/em><\/strong>.

Clean Cooking – COP29<\/h3>\n\n\n\n


The \u2018Clean Cooking in Africa\u2019 summit<\/a> <\/strong>of the International Energy Agency (IEA) took place in Paris on 14 May 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facts and findings presented and elaborated here were taken up again at COP29 in Baku, as reported here<\/a> <\/strong>by \u2018African Business\u2019, among others.
We have long been aware of the damage to the health<\/strong><\/a> of women and children who continue to cook over open fires using wood, charcoal and
other fossil fuels – and not only on the African continent.
We are also concerned about the impact that the use of fossil fuels and the deforestation of valuable trees by a growing population on the African
continent will have on the climate.
For more than 30 years, our aim has been to help reduce these risks with our solar cookers.
Perhaps just a drop in the ocean, but we are still enthusiastic and keep the following African proverb in mind:

A total of 10 teachers used the time after school to learn all about the production of components, assembly and handling of our \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddde\ud835\udfed\ud835\udff0 \ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddef\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf0 \ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff \ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf8\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff.
On the first afternoon, the project work of \ud835\uddd8\ud835\uddda \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff \ud835\uddf2.\ud835\udde9. was presented and then an aluminium cooker sent in advance was assembled and of course immediately tested.
